Engineering or Medical ? Which one is for you.

"Engineering or Medicine?" This is a question which most commonly and frequently pops up in your head and is deliberately (or maybe not) asked by your relatives and friends. Today's environment has created a pressure on students of this generation (as it did on me myself).  Well, when it comes to choosing between the two, it is NOT at all difficult. Let's help you out decide.

The simplest answer to this question would be "whichever of the two, you think you'll have FUN in". YES EXACTLY. If you think you'll have fun in engineering studying and exploring the technological world and end up working in a similar field, engineering is for you. And if you think you'll have the same (well not really :p) cutting, fixing and rejoining patients bodies, go for medicine. The answer is just the matter of what you prefer over what. Believe me, neither of the two is easy as ABC nor tough as rocket science (maybe rocket science is :p). Well, through proper surveying I arrived at a fact that "A medical student's life is more boring than that of an engineering one."

There is a special case, worth mentioning, when the student has out flowing and equal interests in both the fields. The answer again lies in the 'personal preference' fact but such a student should know what he's really good at and what skills can he groom in.
-Engineering is all about application of knowledge of Mathematics and Physics and other core engineering concepts. Different engineering fields include different types of courses. Engineering students, after graduation, can work in different industries, companies etc
-On the other hand, Medical is the knowledge of whole of the human body with all the internal stuff. It includes Anatomy, Physiology and BioChem. Medical Students end up working in hospitals where they help patients fight different diseases and also eradicate them off patients' body.

I would recommend you to go with the field which you think you would be best at. It will help you have a command on what you're doing and most importantly, it will never let you sick of it. The rule does not apply only on Engineering or Medicine but on other fields also. You may prove to be a better lawyer than Engineer, or maybe a better musician than a doctor. It is the matter of your interest and passion. So feel free to think over it. Your decision may save an innocent person from death penalty in the court.

Some people would contradict me (and they should) on the fact of making the most money. A strange hype has been created that Engineers and Doctors make the most money. That is not true. Only successful Engineers do so. And the secret behind their success is their 'passion' for their field in which they're working.

So folks, I hope that was enough for making you clear your mind about choosing the particular field. Always remember:
  • This is your life. It's okay to take as much as time you need to make a decision.
  • Let "interest, passion and learning thirst" be the base of your decision.
  • Life is beautiful. Smile.
  • Commenting is free. Feel free to ask :)
